For the past year, I have been studying in the Police Technology program at Ahuntsic College in Montreal. The glossary below is for anyone considering policing as a career and wanting to develop valuable vocabulary that will be helpful for the job. Policing means the activities carried out by police officers in order to preserve law and order. Obviously, if you compare today's police to the police of the 1980s, you'll see that police officers are more educated and face more challenges with the public and resistance to authority.
